![]() premise ARRIVAL It happens in the blink of an eye. One moment, you are home. Perhaps you are with your family, perhaps you are at work. It's a completely normal day . . . and then, suddenly, your stomach drops. You are overcome with a sudden sense of vertigo. You cannot see up, or down, or where you are. All you hear is a voice -- light, bubbly, warm, soothing, in your ear: Don't worry, darling. This won't hurt a bit~♥ And once that moment is over, you fall flat on your face. It's sunny, warm, with the tickling of glass. It takes a few moments for you to gain composure, to catch your breath. You think, for half a moment, that a hand is on your back, rubbing between your shoulder blades in comfort, but when you open your eyes, no one is there. You are surrounded by ancient stone buildings, with carvings you do not recognize etched into the stone. There's a sense of nausea, overwhelming and sudden, when you realize you aren't in Kansas anymore. THE TEMPLE OF BEGINNINGS You are soon found by a young woman, dressed in bright colors, stepping through the grass and stone walls, a sweet smile on her lips. Perhaps you panic, perhaps you lash out -- but you soon realize that whatever powers you may have had in your universe are gone. There is no magic, no alchemy, no unique gifts. You are powerless. But the woman before you simply smiles if you try. You soon find out her name is Astoria, and she is frank in what has happened: You shouldn't be afraid, my darling warrior. ♥ I know this is a lot to take in, but trust me! I'll make it as easy as it can go.It's a long story, but to make it short and delightfully sweet, I brought you here to help, to take part in the fight to save our world, and to join as a warrior of the Light. Welcome to the Circle, my Circle, brave soul. I know you'll do just as well as the rest of your comrades who have found their way to my home. Now! Follow me, and I'll show you to where you'll be staying. Hurry up, keep up! The universe awaits. WELCOME TO ACATALEPSY Acatalepsy is a plot-driven world-hopping RPG, in which characters travel from world to world through the powers of Astoria, the Head Witch of the Circle that your character has been drafted into. All magical items are nerfed upon arrival, but Astoria allows you to keep one (1) magical weapon/weapon. It may not work within the Temple of Beginnings, but it may work on your travels. Only time will tell. To make up for the lack of powers, your character is gifted an ability by Astoria herself. If you ask why? Astoria will simply smile and say, Because. ♥ . That gift can be anything from creating fire to creating spontaneous birthday cakes to rain from the sky for about an hour -- however, Astoria does not grant anything too game-breaking to her Circle members. She does, however, get creative in her gifts -- she likes to think she's funny. Every decision a character makes can change the course of the game, and Astoria keeps a watchful eye over those in her service. The universe is full of problems, troubles, war -- and your character, through their travels, has the opportunity to alter fate. Hang on tight. The universe, as Astoria likes to say, awaits. |
